Who holds the copyrights to fandoms, again?
Oh right. The CREATORS of the fandom's basis setting and / or characters.
Characters are not YOURS if they are based on a pre-established setting and traits owned by a creator of their own fiction.

This is why I separated Aeriokoli Sopheros from DBZ fanfiction long ago. I wanted her for my own shit.
Same with you kids. You want copyrights? You want true ownership? Then make up your OWN shit, and stop lazily inserting plot element by plot element from popular fiction works to explain things for you, just so you don't have to use your brains.

If that's too much, then don't cry "YOUR COPYING MAI CHARACTUR!!!"
because the character really never belonged to you, to begin with.
